MY DAY WITH THE PHOTOCOPIER

For todays task, I was asked to have a play with the photocopier in order to create some designs via two different methods, simple block shapes and crease making. I found both a really interesting way of approaching the design process with I had never really used before.

Although both had come from the same roots, they to me were on different ends of the pattern cutting spectrum, the very simple to the very elaborate. I have to say that I preferred the crease method as it was more inspiring to me instantly urging me to develop those ideas into more finalised designs. However, the simple shape method did do some good as it helped me explore how the little details of a garment can have a big impact on a garment.

By using these new techniques it has got the ball rolling for me, design wise. The compilation of all the these techniques is really making me think of the compilation to happen during the development process.
