From my final draping design, I immediately started to construct the piece together by entirely hand sewing it. At first this was an incredibly daunting task as there was so much to sew up in the timeframe I had scheduled.
I took my work home with me to complete overnight in an effort to try and complete all the sewing the day before the shoot. However, constructing it together proved very difficult for me with out the stand for support and to show how it would hang. I made the decision to wait till I was back in Ravensbourne to finish it off to achieve the ultimate perfection rather than settling for a dodgy sewn together garment. I was a tough task as I was shooting on the same day due to model availability
Nevertheless, I finished all that had to be done in time for the shoot. Surprisingly, using a slip stitch throughout the garment made it quite easy and quick to make the garment secure enough and free to move around it without fear of ruining it. Although, if I had more to time with this project, I would have made suer that the garment was constructed so that it was durable.
