Seeing that the science museum was a bit of a disappointment, I then went to the NHM in order to source some inspiration from a new angle of the circulatory system, igneous rock and the weathering of materials.
Whilst browsing in the gift shop, I came across this egg shaped rock amongst all the tatty precious stones that they sell. The structure of the aesthetic marbling effect really appealed to me as it seamed as if it was holding in all the red colouring of the rock, giving it structure to mould itself to.
I feel that this visit inspired me more as it is an alternative way of looking at my concept. For example, looking at the igneous rock, I can envision a panel structure on a garment.
Although it was useful to see my concept from a new perspective, reflecting back I don't think that this research will be the best for generating ideas as I feel that its too separate from my concept and it would interrupt my flow of research.
