Hermes, the messenger god - BEAU SCARLETT-PITT 09/09/14
I found my visit to the British museum very useful. I saw many sculptures that have unleashed floods of design inspiration, in particular, the sculpture above. When I initially looked at it, all I noticed was the body, it was only until I had a closer look at the whole image where I realised there was a vein like structure holding the piece up. This instantly gave me the idea of using boning in the seam detail on a garment to portray the structure of veins and how they support the human body. Insight of this enlightenment, I would call this primary research a success.
