BEAU SCARLETT-PITT 21/09/14
Immediately after making my knitwear sample, I went straight to the photocopier to scan in my design in. This was triggered off by what my knitwear tutor said in our afternoon crit; "It's amazing what these samples can go on and turn into". He gave me the idea to manipulate the sample and turn it into a garment of some sort.
I started off by copy and pasting the sample numerous times and then arranging them into the shape of a jumper. I then changed the contours of the overall shape by using the liquidity filter.
This process showed me how something like a sample can turn into a garment and how I can visualise an end product just from the sample. Looking at this design, I would love to make it! Depending on how my design development progresses, I may take it forward for a final design.
